About Prevx
Prevx provides a new and refreshing approach to IT security. All our products have been designed to work alongside other mainstream vendor products to offer the "most comprehensive protection possible" and help our customers - from consumers and small businesses to the largest global organizations - secure their PCs and protect their data assets.
Over recent years the volume of malware has accelerated, rapidly driven by a change in motive amongst writers from malicious intent to commercial intent. Internet crime has evolved from "occasional" exploits to a thriving global economy. The current mainstream antivirus products cannot cope with the scale and sophistication of attacks and they are failing to adequately protect users. A new "collaborative" approach is needed to beat the cyber criminals and protect consumers and businesses.
Prevx Limited is a privately held internet security company headquartered in the UK with international support facilities in Europe and the US. Founded in 2001, Prevx's family of security software now has over 5 million users worldwide. Prevx has developed a legacy of pioneering advanced new products designed to catch many of the threats that bypass existing antivirus and endpoint security products. Prevx's innovative approach has already claimed a number of significant industry milestones, including filing patent applications for the world's first "herd intelligence" application and launching the first ever consumer focussed host intrusion prevention system (HIPS). Prevx has also developed one of the most advanced malware databases in the world and pioneered the "in the cloud" approach to malware detection and prevention.
Innovation lies at the heart of Prevx and the company is now breaking new ground again in the security space with the introduction of products that provide both stand-alone and incremental protection for customers, co-existing with other mainstream antivirus and endpoint security products to provide the most complete protection possible.
Prevx also introduced its specialized Prevx 3.0 Banking and eCommerce security management solution. This ground breaking solution provides banks and eCommerce companies with real-time information about the risk profile of their customers' PCs and enables them to quickly understand and quantify the risks of an individual eCommerce session before credentials and confidential information are exchanged.
Prevx Strategy & Vision
Our vision is to provide high-quality incremental security solutions that truly leverage the power and scalability of "herd or security intelligence". Our products must be able to coexist with and enhance the security offered by all major end-point security vendors with special emphasis on early life malware detection, removal and protection. Our products must be easy to implement and use, and demonstrate true value to our customers.
Since its first generation HIPS solution, Prevx has invested heavily in R&D to ensure the base and back end technology for its new product will provide unlimited scalability, high performance and very low cost of operation. This has been achieved with the delivery of its 4th generation "in the cloud" architecture that has received significant industry recognition and business interest from large enterprises, government organizations, eCommerce providers, and Banks.
Prevx has experienced significant growth in the past few years and will continue to invest in R&D and work with leading industry bodies to address the needs of the global market and spearhead development for the benefit of businesses and end users.
