AntiVirGear is here...

Here's another rogue anti-spyware product worthy of a mention. It's called AntiVirGear. So why do I believe this is worthy of a mention? Well, on the 3rd of July 2007, Jacques posted information regarding VirusProtect Pro. Since appearing on our radar we have protected over 4,300 users in our community against this threat, and yes you've guessed it, AntiVirGear appears to be the latest incarnation of this.

We first saw AntiVirGear on the 12th September 2007, it's now been seen on over 200 of our agents. AntiVirGear can be found on www.antivirgear.com which was created on the 14th August 2007. The website is almost identical to www.virusprotectpro.com and if the spread of infection is anywhere near the same, then the guys behind this stand to make a large amount of money out of unprotected/uninformed internet users.
