Cleanup your PC in 8 simple steps with Prevx CSI


Step 1 - Download and Run Prevx CSI

Always ensure you have downloaded and are running the latest version of Prevx CSI from the Prevx website.

Once the small download has completed, run the Prevx CSI .EXE file. If your PC displays any File Download or Security Warning messages, accept these to tell your system it is ok to complete the download and run the file. A more detailed explanation of this process can be found here.

Step 2 - Scan

Once Prevx CSI starts you need to review and accept our terms and conditions of use. If you agree, check the "I accept" check box, then click the "Continue" button to enter CSI.

To start your scan, simply click the "Scan Now" button. Prevx CSI will then perform a system scan to build a list of potential threats resident on your system.

Step 3 - Verify

Once the system scan has completed the list of potential threats will be verified against our online database to ensure accurate determination of any potential threats.

Step 4 - Get License

If your system is infected, and you wish to use Prevx CSI's Removal and Cleanup features, you will need to obtain a CSI cleanup license key.

To do this, click the "Cleanup Now" button, followed by "Get a CSI License".

Step 5 - Purchasing a Cleanup License

You will then be forwarded to the Prevx website where you can purchase your CSI cleanup license. License keys are available for single machines, family licenses or extended business licenses.

Choose your desired license type, enter your payment details, and then once the transaction is successful you will receive your license key immediately on-screen and via email.

Once you receive your license key, enter this into the empty field and click "Validate License" to activate your cleanup ability.

Prevx CSI is now ready to perform cleanup.

Step 6 - Preparing for Cleanup

To remove the risk of re-infection during the process of cleanup, please ensure that you disable any connections to wired/wireless routers, broadband or dial up modems.

Also ensure that any other security tools (Anti-virus, Anti-spyware or Firewalls for example) are disabled as these can sometime interfere with the cleanup process.

Step 7 - Cleanup

With your internet connection and other security applications disabled, you can initiate clean up by clicking the "Cleanup now" button.

To enable Prevx CSI to remove certain files many reboot may be required. After your system has reboot a second System Scan will be scheduled to ensure all components of the infection have been removed.

Step 8 - Cleanup Finished

Once cleanup has completed, and if your system hasn't already rebooted - you may now restart any security tools previously disabled and reconnect to the internet.
